Tina Lee gets things done
Dear Editor:
Our agriculture sector here in the Okanagan has taken a couple of major body blows, and with climate change ramping up, there will be more. Our growers deserve support as they navigate the unpredictability of extreme weather events, and provincial government support is essential.
Our Penticton-Naramata-Summerland riding desperately needs an MLA that is part of the government, and who can advocate for our growers. In my mind, Tina Lee is that person.
She knows how to get things done, and her heart lies with our community.

Anti-idling bylaw is needed
Dear Editor:
Whatsa国际传媒 to be done with all the vehicles in long lineups waiting to get their Egg McMuffins and Timbits?
Could be big bucks听 there.

sa国际传媒 needs more foreign doctors
Dear Editor:
I am most upset by discrimination of foreign doctors and health care workers. 听
I have macular degeneration and am most pleased that Dr. M. Hoonjan is here.听 He has a room full of us (every couple months for me) and is very busy and accommodating to all of us. 听
I praise God that we have such a specialized ophthalmologist in our area.
When, and if, those that have discriminated against him are unfortunate enough to have macular degeneration, they will be happy that he is here. 听
He has treated me with careful hands when I receive the injection. 听
Thank you very much Dr. Hoonjan. I鈥檓 upset that he has been unable to use his specialized training at our local hospital.

Parents support bad behaviour
Dear Editor:
Re: 鈥淧enticton teacher faces disciplinary action鈥 (July 31).
I would like to support Miko McGrady in his quest to have a disruptive student removed from his classroom.
It is not the right of one student to supersede the rights of 29 other students to an optimum learning environment.
Also, the teachersa国际传媒 job is to teach and not to baby sit. 听
I would like to remind everyone that it is not a teachersa国际传媒 comments that reflect on the parenting skills of bringing up that student, but the behaviour of that
student which should reflect on the parents.听听
If it were my child that was being disruptive in class, I would not be blaming the teacher, but having a serious talk with my child and explaining the consequences of that behaviour, such as removing privileges.
I鈥檓 surprised that apparently, no one sees that supporting bad behaviour is not doing the child any good, but actually encouraging the continuance of that bad behaviour.听听
Everyone should take ownership of their responsibility and I definitely support Miko McGrady and I am disappointed that he had to endure disciplinary action in this case plus public ridicule.
That was poorly done.
E.M. Smith,听Penticton

MPs should take shorter break
Dear Editor:
Mr. Prime Minister are you listening?
Thatsa国际传媒 the burning question on taxpayers鈥 minds with the latest Liberal cabinet retreat touted as a chance to 鈥渞ebrand鈥 yourselves after a dismal nine year record of scam, scandal, lies and obscene overspending.
Now you can add the word 鈥渟ham鈥 to the credits, with nothing new to offer Canadians except more bills to pay for expensive wines, food and lavish hotel rooms at this good ole folks鈥 retreat.
Nothing new will come out of this public-reltaions gimmick and the novelty will wear off quickly like your Tofino tan from the lengthy summer break you and your cronies cooked up.
MPs should have taken a shorter summer break given all the problems we face with inflation, overspending, over carbon taxation, severe housing shortages and a Canadian military in shambles.
I believe our problems will live on until the day Canadian voters are able to dispatch your worst- ever Liberal government at the polls. And why is American, Jake Sullivan visiting -- to tell you how to run our government?
Will your bestie Jagmeet Singh, have any remorse and help all Canadians get rid of you and your Liberals when Parliament resumes?
Or will he help keep you in power to collect his 鈥済olden goose鈥 pension? It seems lining Singhsa国际传媒 pockets take priority over the people.
Sound familiar?
Greg Snider,听Creston
