United is proven leadership

Dear Editor:

We are in a financial crisis in sa国际传媒 because of the incompetence of the NDP government who in the past seven years blew through a $3-billion nest egg left by the sa国际传媒 Liberals, now the sa国际传媒 United Party.聽聽

The NDP ballooned the debt to now $107- billion and thatsa国际传媒 why lettuce now costs $4.聽 They are reckless, incompetent and dangerous. RID should be our rally cry.

We cannot look to the sa国际传媒 Conservative Party to fix this.聽 They failed to elect anyone since 1975 in sa国际传媒 and are untried, untested, now in disarray throwing sa国际传媒 candidate Alexandra Wright under the bus.聽 We do not have the luxury of time to clean up after them too.聽聽

We are in a financial crisis now.聽聽

They are polling higher now on the backs of the federal Conservative party under Pierre Poilievre, also untried and untested, in a different jurisdiction and responsibilities.

The only tried and tested party in sa国际传媒 is the sa国际传媒 United Party who in the past 51 years have cleaned up the financial mess left by previous NDP governments, and will do it again.

Voters hold the power of who they want as their CEO and board of directors in the largest corporation in sa国际传媒 called the government.

You and I are its shareholders who now know they have mismanaged our corporation and must be voted out, to be replaced by the sa国际传媒 United candidates.

One platform of the sa国际传媒 United is the first $50,000 of earned income is tax-free putting $2,050 a year back into the pockets of 60% of us, which would be roughly $6-billion a year and will help stimulate the economy as we know best where we want to invest/spend and help a neighbour.聽聽

Join sa国际传媒 United as time is of the essence.

Left-wing elitists can be scary

Dear Editor:

In your Aug. 24 edition, two statements captured the essence of left-wing elitism.

One was in Reg Volksa国际传媒 鈥淪econd Opinion鈥 column where he described a family reunion in rural Alberta.

With Volk, being a retired teacher from sa国际传媒 and his Alberta relatives, people of the land, opposing politics were discussed. As Volk looked back on it he surmised that Danielle Smith 鈥渨on mainly with the help of rural voters who often do not understand that not everybody can live their lifestyle, that is the Calgary Stampede lifestyle.鈥

Whatsa国际传媒 wrong with this statement is that in Alberta and in rural and small town sa国际传媒, itsa国际传媒 the other way around. Itsa国际传媒 the urban sensibilities that are being forced on rural folks rather than vice versa.

鈥淵our cow farts are screwing up the climate鈥 as opposed to their massive heat gathering concrete jungles.

鈥淛unk that pick up truck and buy an EV.鈥

鈥淏uy a heat pump and get rid of that gas furnace.鈥

鈥淗ow can you hunt game to feed your family when you can buy meat at the grocery store?鈥 The list goes on.

The reality, Mr. Volk is that rural Canada does not want urbanites to live the way they do. They wouldn鈥檛 trade lifestyles for anything, but politicians are stoking that divide and pitting urban against rural for power. This needs to stop.

The second statement is from none other than, Liberal apologist, Patrick MacDonald, who in a letter, not so craftily used the U.S. election and Donald Trump to take a jab at any Canadians voting Conservative, by labeling us as 鈥渦neducated鈥 rubes.

No, Mr. MacDonald, itsa国际传媒 not us 鈥渦neducated鈥 rubes that are a problem, itsa国际传媒 you left- wing elitists, including your hero Justin Trudeau, that don鈥檛 understand that we are rejecting your version of social engineering and left-wing dogma.

Navigating our judicial system

Dear Editor:

This letter is a public service announcement.聽 I would like the public to know that if a child is abducted by the non-custodial parent, the police cannot pursue the case without a court order unless the separation agreement specifically says 鈥淩CMP Enforceable.鈥澛犅

The custodial parent must wait until the courts convene before a search can be initiated for the abducted child. This could mean the abductor has 3-4 days to abscond with the child before a search is initiated.聽 My suggestion is that if there is any concern for the safety of your children, then all application for custody should read 鈥淩CMP Enforceable鈥 so a search can commence immediately.聽聽

Navigating through our convoluted judicial system can be a challenge.聽聽

Speeders need tougher penalties

Dear Editor:

For a driver doing 73 km/h over the posted 50 km/h speed limit and failing a roadside test, is the 90-day suspension, a $483 fine and vehicle impounded for 30 days too lenient a punishment?

Thatsa国际传媒 only a wrist-slap.

They are not only endangering themselves but everyone else on the road. Perhaps a 12-month suspension and $1,000 fine might sink in.

The current penalties aren鈥檛 working.

Speeders need to be hit where it hurts, and hopefully learn a lesson. 73 km/h over the posted limit?
