Loves the team in orange vests

Dear Editor:

I am a senior in my 90s, and an occasional visit to see a patient in the vast sa国际传媒 General Hospital.

It can be a daunting experience for this old fellow.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday, I decided to visit a friend who had been relocated to the rehabilitation wing which is located at the farthest end of this hospital.

On arriving at the front entrance, I approached a nearby desk containing two orange-vested volunteers for advice to locate this far-off region. With no hesitation whatsoever, one of the young men was up and advised me he would take me there.

Excuse me, take me there? Yes.

As we zigzagged through various hallways before arriving at the destination, I was almost overwhelmed with appreciation, and attempted to offer a small token to the volunteer, which was politely declined.

Finally, I was advised that if I anticipated finding the exit after the visit, phone their desk, and he would come and get me.

This was a very special young man, but he is probably just one of the many orange-vested volunteers, scattered throughout the hospital, who also provide cheerful guidance and assistance whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Focus on family and taxpayers

Dear Editor:

After reading Marni Manuelsa国际传媒 letter 鈥渢axpayers are being ignored鈥 (Aug. 1) we could not agree more.

It is perfectly said, that our city council needs to stand up and voice their disgust with the premier and prime minister!

Our once-safe town is being ruled by the undesirables roaming and threatening our streets, stealing whatever they want.

As a tourist city how do we think it looks when our seniors are assaulted and don鈥檛 feel safe going out of their homes. Our town is a mess and needs to be cleaned up.

Quit inviting more undesirables into our town.

Start focusing on the taxpayers and working 聽families that look for you to do the right thing.
