Penticton Regional Airport offers fair prices on parking.
Wow, reasonable parking rates!
Dear Editor:
Penticton now has two major airlines serving the South Okanagan 鈥 听WestJet and Coastal Pacific Airlines.听 On some days 听up to five flights per day.
These airlines connect to major airports serving world destinations. I can now fly to Mexico with WestJet daily out of either Calgary or Vancouver.
Now here then is an 听interesting thought about my vacation to far off places. I can now leave my vehicle at the airport under secure conditions at a price that is unbelievable.
In comparison, sa国际传媒sa国际传媒 airport parking fees are into the stratosphere. How can our airport allow these prices when all other airports charge an arm and a leg for secure parking facilities?
To me, 听Pentictonsa国际传媒 regional 听airport could easily become a charter destination for flights these upcoming winter months. Park your vehicle at a price not heard of today鈥 knowing that it is in a secure compound while you鈥檙e away enjoying 听yourself.
Now that is a great idea, 听knowing my extraordinary minimum payments for my car parking is real and itsa国际传媒 safe.
Thank you Penticton Regional Airport authority.

Make Canada Godly again
Dear Editor:
In Canada we have the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and it states that we have as one of our foundations the freedom of religion.
Believing that religion makes a positive contribution to society, since it promotes virtuous living and love of neighbour, let us promote these freedoms not dis-courage them.
Most religions promote ethical living and these virtues benefit the culture by the citizens that make a positive contribution to our society. Of course, some religions promote terror and some groups promote hate. Better to promote the ideal than selfishness and immorality and lack of integrity.
However, in Canada why are religious groups like Christians largely discriminated against? Some community events do not allow any religious groups to be represented. Is this religious freedom or persecution?
The sad excuse these people use is that if they allow Christians, we have to allow other religious groups as well. What is wrong with that? We do believe in freedom of religion as the Charter of Rights and Freedom states.
It is not religion that causes wars, discrimination and persecution in our culture and in the world it is usually politics and mankindsa国际传媒 sinful pride and selfishness. Jesus taught love and justice together in perfect balance and called us to the highest of virtue. Better to hold up the ideal rather than just promote selfishness. Selfishness destroys community, the culture and the world.
Some religious groups in Canada are promoted, but not Christianity. Canada used to be Godly and it made a huge difference in our society. Less crime, more respect and a lot more responsibility and integrity. Why would our culture be against what makes our culture so much better?
Also, in Canada you are not allowed to have a Christian radio station. For a Christian radio station to exist all the other religions have to be represented by this station as well. This is just ridiculous and they know it. It is hard enough to organize one organization with various views and then have to organize a whole other group of religions is not feasible. Let the Christians have a radio station and if the other religions what a radio station let them also have a radio station of their own. Canadasa国际传媒 approach is not freedom of religion it is suppression of religion.
The religion in Canada that is especially promoted is secular humanism and which the promotion and worship of human beings, rather than God. The result has been a very narcissistic culture. Mankind has an inordinate love for itself and often that means using other people rather than adding to their lives. It is a culture of selfishness. The result is that in our society money is far more important than caring for people.
My desire is that Canada be Godly again. This will solve a lot of social issues and heal our land. Let us especially not discriminate against Christianity because of false excuses saying if we allow Christianity we have to allow other religions

The colours of election signs
Dear Editor:
Re: 鈥淐onfused by campaign signs,鈥 (letters, Oct. 18).
This letter is not an endorsement of any candidate.
I note with some amusement the concern about the colours on signs for different candidates. There was criticism directed at Tracy St. Claire for the colour of her signs. Her signs differ distinctly in colour from those of Amelia Boultbee, but allegedly match those of the now-defunct BC United (formerly Liberal) party.
Amysa国际传媒 lawyer alleges that this may be a violation of election regulations. I have seen concerns that the signage may confuse voters. Although another candidate, Anna Paddon, has signs that are almost identical to Amysa国际传媒 signs in colour and similar in design, I have heard no complaints.
Thanks to all candidates for standing.

Rustad should try cooperation
Dear Editor:
Unfortunately my suspicions about John Rustad, leader of the BC Conservative party, were confirmed in his speech to party supporters after election night. 听
Don鈥檛 get me wrong, I would gladly vote for a right-of-centre progressive conservative party if I believed the leader was sincerely interested in improving the lives of all British Columbians.
Rustadsa国际传媒 combative statement about what his overriding priority will be, if he doesn鈥檛 win the election, is very revealing: 鈥...we will look at every single opportunity from day one to bring them (the NDP) down...鈥 听(Do you get a whiff of Trumpism?)
It is blatantly obvious Rustad is not interested in the views and wishes of British Columbians who did not support him. The primary role of the opposition party is to hold the government to account, in other words, act in the best interest of all British Columbians and not be focused on a self-serving lust for power.

Seniors concerned about climate future
Dear Editor:
A few weeks ago on Oct. 1, I took part in a Seniors for Climate march from Marina Park to City Hall in Penticton. 听
In planning for this, we asked people to describe their hopes for the future on prayer flags, rectangles ripped from thrifted sheets. On Oct. 听1, we took these flags to Penticton City Hall and presented our environmental concerns to our city councillors.
Now we are left with almost 100 prayer flags with messages of hope. I鈥檝e spent the past few days mounting these flags permanently on strings of rope. 听
The messages have been written by people young and old. Itsa国际传媒 been a powerful experience and a privilege to work with them. The flags will soon be displayed locally so they can inspire others. Watch for them, take time to read them and become involved.
My prayer flag is there too. My hope is for policies to be in place to ensure all new builds are fossil-fuel free.听 I look to our city councillors to be forward thinking regarding the climate crisis, and to act quickly.听听
Next year on Oct. 1, there will be another Seniors for Climate demonstration. I hope our city will have environmentally progressive actions to celebrate.
