Sun stay unbeaten, storm back late to top Westshore

Okanagan Sun is now 7-0 for the season.

Fresh off two lopsided wins, Okanagan Sun travel to Langley this afternoon (Sept. 7) for a date with the Rams beginning at 4 p.m.

In the lone meeting between the two teams on July 20, the Sun came from behind to win 22-15.

The Sun (6-0) will arrive in Langley with a defence that is relentless, led by BCFC leading tackler, Jacob Bond with 37 solo tackles, and league leading ball-hawk Ahmed Borhot, with six interceptions. Santiago Ramirez is tied for the BCFC lead in sacks at 3.0 while

Hunter Bultsma has 2.5 sacks on the season.

The Sun D will have to be on their best game facing the Rams offence led by quarterback Palaina Hopper who is second in league passing yards at 1,380, and nine TDsa国际传媒 and second in offensive yards with 1,545. Hoppersa国际传媒 favourite target is WR Terrel Jones, ranked first in BCFC yards receiving with 585 and four touchdowns.

Expect a solid air attack from Rams QB Hopper, 61 of 101 for a .604 completion percentage.

On the Sun side of the ball, you can again expect to see the ball in the hands of BCFC leading Elelyon Noa numerous times. After six games this season, Noa has rushed for 845 yards, his closest rival is Rams runningback Bruce Jones, 301 yards short of the league leader.

Sun rookie QB Marek Filipek continues to impress, compiling a .675 completion percentage on 56 of 83 for 781 yards and five touchdowns. Filipeksa国际传媒 number one receiver is WR Sam Melanson with 15 receptions for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
