It was the final game of the season at the Apple Bowl, the Cullen Cup up for grabs, and as they have all season the Okanagan Sun delivered a victory in the end, albeit a nail-bitter!

For the second time in three years the Sun defeated the Westshore Rebels to win the BCFC Championship and earn the right to have the Cullen Cup back in sa国际传媒 for the next 365 days.

In a highly entertaining game and exciting finish, the Sun pulled out a 23-17 win over the Rebels on the strength of K Liam Attwoodsa国际传媒 right leg with a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter to break a 17-17 tie.

The Sun set the pace early, on their first possession of the game, starting QB Liam Kroeger, drove the offence downfield where from the one-yard line he called #1 RB

The first quarter ended on an Attwood field-goal to put the Sun up 10-1.

The Sun continued moving the ball in the second quarter and increased their lead when Kroeger hit WR Jordayne Falconer on a 26-yard TD pass and run, 17-3 Sun going into halftime.

First half stats had the Sun with a net offense of 230 yards to the Rebels 66.

The second half was a complete reversal of the first with the Rebels quickly hitting the scoreboard on back-to-back touchdowns.

Rebels QB Ethan Pickard found WR Zion Brown for six to make it 17-10 and on their next possession it was RB Carter Williams finding the end zone to tie the game at 17.

Heading into the fourth quarter and Westshore with all the momentum, it was the Sun defence that stepped up to shut down the Rebel attack.

With Kroeger leading the Sun in the final quarter of football at the Apple Bowl this season, he gave Attwood the field position needed for his second and third field goals of the game and a 23-17 Sun win.

Kroeger finished the night going 16 of 24 for 237 yards, 3 INTsa国际传媒 and 1 TD.

Defensively the Sun ball-hawks were at it again, DB David Lewis, defensive player of the game, had three picks while his secondary teammate DB Easton Fenske picked off Pickard on the games final play.

Noa was named offensive player of the game for his 104 combined yards and 1 TD and Attwood was special teams player of the game.

The Sun will travel to Saskatchewan next weekend to face the winner of the Prairie Football Conference final between Regina Thunder and Saskatoon Hilltops.
