The benefits of sobriety will be celebrated this Saturday at a downtown sa国际传媒 entertainment venue.

鈥楢 Sober Supper Club鈥 will be held at Revelry Food+Music Hub. Along with promoting the idea itsa国际传媒 possible to have fun without drinking alcohol, the event is designed as a awareness and recruiting opportunity for the sa国际传媒 chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

鈥淩ecently we had to decline an opportunity to assist RCMP with Checkstops due to a lack of volunteers,鈥 local chapter president Amanda Lane says. 鈥淭hrough this event, we hope to raise awareness, recruit new volunteers, and secure funding to continue our mission.鈥

A shift away from alcohol consumption is being observed among young people, MADD Canada says. More than 30 per cent of college students now abstain from alcohol, with the low- and no-alcohol craft beverage market projected to expand by 25 per cent between 2022 and 2026.
