Caton Ryansa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ goal at 17:56 of the third period stood as the winner as Penticton Vees beat Cranbrook Bucks 3-1, Saturday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The win gives the Vees a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven BCHL quarter-final. Games 3 and 4 are in Cranbrook on Wednesday and Thursday. If a fifth game is forced, it will be Saturday in Penticton at 6 p.m.

After a scoreless first period, the two goals in the second period came close together – Ben Merrill of the Vees at 2:13 and Jacob Fletcher of the Bucks at 4:21.

Ethan Buenaventura, drawing his first start of this series, posted the win in net for the Vees making 16 saves. Jaden Cholette stopped 35 shots for the Bucks.

Brock Reinhart added an empty net goal at 19:28 in the third.
