Two more teens have been arrested in connection with the swarming and beating of a 13-year-old sa国际传媒 girl.聽
This brings to five the number of youths, all under the age of 18, who face criminal charges in the wake of the shocking attack, which was captured on video filmed by dozens of bystanders.聽
鈥淭he victim along with police are asking anyone who has video of the incident to please stop circulating and playing the video,鈥 sa国际传媒 RCMP Sgt. Laura Pollock said in a Thursday release.聽
鈥淲e are asking everyone to abide by the victimsa国际传媒 wishes as the recirculation of the video is traumatic to all involved,鈥 Pollock said.聽
Each of the five has been released from custody but are now on 鈥渟trict conditions鈥, the release states. The sa国际传媒 RCMP will be monitoring the youth to ensure they are complying with these conditions and attending any future court dates, the release says.聽
Last Friday at about 8:30 p.m., the girl was involved in a dispute that broke out among a number of people gathered at Gyro Park on Lakeshore Road. The video shows the girl then being struck from behind before falling to the ground, where she is kicked and punched by several youths, even after she appears to have been knocked out.聽
