Crash connector

One person was killed Wednesday morning when their vehicle collided with a snowplow on the Okanagan Connector highway just west of the Highway97 interchange at Peachland. The two westbound lanes of freeway were closed for eight hours while police investigated.

The crash happened about 9 a.m. just a few hundred metres west of the interchange.

Both westbound lanes were closed for eight hours while police investigated the accident, with Coast-bound drivers being re-routed on the longer Hope-Princeton Highway route to Vancouver.聽

鈥淚nvestigators have determined a pickup truck travelling westbound with a lone occupant collided with a snowplow while attempting to pass,鈥 sa国际传媒 RCMP Cpl. Michael Gauthier said in a release.

鈥淩oad conditions played a significant factor in this collision," he said.聽
