A wide trench has been cut into Westside Road following a large mudslide Tuesday evening.聽
The road is currently closed to traffic with no information yet on when it might re-open to traffic.聽
An aerial photo taken by AIM Roads, a highways maintenance contractor, shows a considerable expanse of mud blocking the highway near the Okanagan Lake Resort.聽
A section of the road has also been scoured out by the force of the mudslide. The slide occurred about 13 km from the City of West sa国际传媒.聽
An update on the situation is expected at noon Thursday from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. While the road is closed, local residents are being advised to use Highway 97 between sa国际传媒 and Vernon.聽
North of West sa国际传媒, Westside Road passes along the small communities of Trader's Cove, Westshore Estates, La Casa, and Fintry.聽
