Central Okanagan Public Schools didn鈥檛 have to look far for their new superintendent.
Jon Rever will take over the position on July 1. He has been with the board since 1992 most recently serving as its acting deputy superintendent.

Rever will take over for Kevin Kaardal, who has been Superintendent of Schools/CEO since 2015.
Rever grew up in the Okanagan graduating from Penticton Secondary School. He graduated from the University of British Columbia and earned his Masters at Gonzaga. He is presently completing his doctorate at UBC Okanagan.
His teaching career began in Powell River in 1991, but he quickly relocated to sa国际传媒 where he taught senior chemistry and math at KSS and Okanagan Mission.
He was appointed vice-principal at Hollywood Road Middle School in 1997 and Dr. Knox as principal in 2021.
Since 2004 to the present hesa国际传媒 held various administrative positions at the board office.
鈥淚鈥檓 really excited about the future,鈥 Rever said in an interview with The Courier, Tuesday.
The Central Okanagan board has a present student enrolment of about 25,653 鈥 fifth-largest in British Columbia.
